Description
This was a commissioned piece for a couple that comes into where I work. I is done in both black and sepia charcoal. They also asked me if I would post this as a deviant and I said of course.

This one is very creatively done, and my favourite of your pieces so far. It has a very mystical but relaxed feel to it.
The smooth texture and ornate design of the shelf complements the cat very well. I also love the plush look of the fur and the colouration. That tortoiseshell pattern is very difficult to mimic, and you've done a great job with it.
I only have a couple of suggestions: I think that the composition would have worked better were the paws visible, too. The only other thing that I noticed is that the face (eyes and ears) are not symmetrical. I have a problem with this, too, which is why I rarely draw head-on angles like this. When I have to do them, I usually hold my picture up to a mirror after my sketch is mostly finished. For some reason, it is easier to notice symmetry errors when you do this.
Overall, this is a great piece! I love the fantasy elements combined with realism. It's was also a good idea to draw this aligned toward the bottom of the page. I really like the "white space" at the top.
